On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Las Vegas Public Radio division at Portsonic Communications (Nevada) will be shutting down to begin testing the all new Magic FM as we take it back to the 80's. The Las Vegas Public Radio interactive radio service and game module currently in development for the upcoming American made Portsonic Radio devices is going offline to be transitioned into the Magic FM Live interactive radio service and game module. This better aligns with branding and marketing of the upcoming American made Portsonic Radio devices on the Portsonic Radio platform. All local and international Las Vegas Public Radio website visitors and former Las Vegas Public Radio/PBS Affiliate & KIOF listeners will be permanently redirected to the Magic FM Live interactive radio service and game module website beginning on November 1, 2025.
During the initial test phase running from November 1, 2025 until January 31, 2026, private contributions, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, and other support for the Las Vegas Public Radio interactive radio service and game module along with it's terrestrial FM operations through transition can still be made payable to Las Vegas Public Radio and are not tax deductible. We expect the Las Vegas Public Radio brand phase out through transition will be completed by January 31, 2026 in coordination with the final shutdown of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) in Washington, D.C. as there are no more public radio stations like Las Vegas Public Radio being built or maintained in America after 50+ years.
